The Local Church: The Best Message Ever

2 Corinthians 4:1-18

June 29, 2008

*Disclaimer* Before we get too full of ourselves...

You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
2 Corinthians 3:3-5

... know that we are being filled with Jesus Christ!

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us... We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
2 Corinthians 4:7,10

Today, what is your message about Jesus Christ?

If people know that we are Christians, they are always and easily noticing and evaluating what Jesus means to us. If they do not know we are Christians, they do get to know quite quickly what the ultimate source of our identity, security, and meaning is.
-Robert Kolb, Speaking the Gospel Today

Your message speaks to two different audiences...

... but it always starts between you & God, as long as there is a certain day called ____________________.

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:15-16
