Equipping Disciples for "Angels and Demons"
Let's Tell the Story

Last Week - Faith and Science...

"True science discovers God in an ever-increasing degree - as though God were waiting behind every door."
Pope Pius XII

Is the Gospel story unique?

The Claim: Christianity has borrowed the stories of other faiths throughout history.

The Implied Conclusion: Christianity is not based in history, and if it is, its story is certainly not unique. I have the right to decide whether or not I want to subscribe to such a tradition.

The Gospel story, whether we believe it or not, is our story!

"This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross."
Acts 2:23

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
Acts 2:36

God has called you to share in Christ's story.

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-- for all whom the Lord our God will call."
Acts 2:37-39

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
Romans 6:4-5

The Gospel is not just a story - it's our story! Tell your story!
