The Lost Son is probably a better title.

This parable is often misinterpreted, or its main point is changed.

When seen in its context the main point becomes clear: God has a special place in his heart for the lost. He loves them dearly.

There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
