Jesus taught the disciples how to pray with the words of the Lord's Prayer.

But He immediately followed this with a teaching that the heart behind the prayer mattered more than the words.

God wants us to persevere with our requests and not give up.

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." - Luke 11:9
