Hearing this parable of Jesus, many would ask, "How can this be right?" or "how is this?" Basically, "How can God allow this?" All good questions, if we make the lesson just on morality or maybe just about ethics. fairness is a human concept - it doesn't apply to God. parable isn't about the question of fairness, it's about the generosity and love of God. invites all into His Kingdom, no matter the circumstance. parables are meant to be a teachable moment - in verse 15 Jesus says "are you envious because I am generous?" What might be our answer?
