In the Beginning...

Anyone remotely familiar with the Bible hears this and immediately thinks of
the creation story in Genesis. And that is precisely what the Gospel writer,
John, is giving us in this passage, a new creation story. And like the
creation story, this story begins with God. In the beginning was what John
calls the Word... and that Word was with God, and that Word was God. And
God came to us in the form of a little baby depicted by the Christmas story as
a baby in a manger. Ever wonder what Mary, Joseph and the others there might
have thought as they looked into the manger? Let's explore that!
