Today is a special day on the church calendar - the day we commemorate the baptism of Jesus. Have you ever really thought "why would Jesus, the Son of God, need to be baptized?" He was not guilty of sin, He did not need forgiveness. He came to bring forgiveness and salvation to us! So why did Jesus instruct John the Baptist to do this? Because it pleased God the Father. You can almost imagine God smiling when the voice from heaven proclaimed "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
